What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, and the effects these disorders have on general health.

Most people seek chiropractic care for treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. These include but are not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

Chiropractors are dedicated to practicing a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Information can be gathered from blood tests, x-rays, MRIs and other sources if needed.

Broad diagnostic skills are then employed to design a specific treatment regimen for each patient that can include therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as nutritional and lifestyle counseling. Chiropractic adjustments are made to the joints of the body to help revive your ability to function more normally.

In Our Office

Dr. Stephen B. Chopyak, D.C employs very gentle techniques gathered from years of study and a continuing review of the latest scientific literature. He works with each person to reduce or eliminate pain by restoring the natural health of the body. This starts with a thorough assessment of the imbalances present and then creating a plan for restoration.

At Westlake Village Chiropractic Arts, we combine the general practice of chiropractic with a very gentle specific technique called Vector Point Cranial Chiropractic.

The foundations of this technique can be sourced to the work of Major DeJarnette, DC DO and the established methods of Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT). Building on this work, the Vector Point Cranial technique was developed by David G. Denton, DC DICS to be low force and non-invasive.  Dr. Chopyak was fortunate to work directly and extensively with Dr. Denton prior to utilizing this technique in his practice.

In our office the Vector Point Cranial technique includes Dr. Denton’s Cranial Pelvic Stabilization as well as established Cranial adjusting methods. Elements of Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) are employed as well to form a full spectrum of treatment possibilities.
